Sony RX100 added to the website

We're quite intrigued to get our hands on this camera, the new Sony DSC-RX100.  Yes it looks like every other compact (although to be fair to Sony, the current top of the range HX20 packs a fair punch and is every bit a rival for Canon's brilliant S100) but it hides something not before seen on a compact like this - the same size 1 inch sensor as Nikon's J1.

So what you get is vastly improved low light performance (which is always comparably good using Sony's Exmor CMOS sensor) and combined with an f/1.8 Carl Zeiss lens, a lovely short depth of field not usually associated with this type of camera.

Is it any good?  Well reviewers are starting to get their hands on them and early indications are that it is very good indeed.

We've decided to stock them for hire as £500 is quite a lot to spend on a compact but you can't help but be intrigued!
