Feels great
From the minute you pick it up, the
PowerShot G6 inspires confidence. All key
controls fall immediately under your
fingertips and the rubberised grip makes
the camera feel like an extension of your
hand. Flip out the large 2.0" vari-angle
LCD and you are ready for anything.
Resolution to burn
The 7.1 Megapixel resolution allows
detailed prints in excess of A3 size and
prints without loss of detail from tight,
post-shoot crops.
Precision lens
Great in low light conditions, the fast
f/2.0 - f/3.0 lens has a versatile focal
length range of 7.2 to 28.8mm (35-140mm
equivalent in 35mm format).
Wealth of options
An SLR-style Mode Dial allows you to call
up any one of 12 different shooting modes.
Two custom modes can be used to save and
retrieve your favourite combination of
settings.
High-performance
With incredible speed, Canon's
purpose-built DIGIC processor executes the
complex algorithms required for accurate
image rendering. The result is superb
quality images, more accurate focusing and
metering, longer battery life and fast
start-up times.
iSAPS Technology
Like a built-in photographer's assistant,
iSAPS improves auto exposure, auto white
balance and auto focus accuracy by
monitoring settings and readings, and
using these to interpret the shooting
situation.
Stay focused
When you need to be fast, the 9-point AiAF
focuses quickly on your subject, even when
it is off-centre. For full control,
FlexiZone AF/AE allows scrolling and
selection of the auto focus point from
across the frame.
Room to grow
For professional lighting results, the
PowerShot G6 is compatible with all Canon
Speedlite flash unitsą. Optional
converter lenses further extend the
camera's range.

The G6 takes everything we like about the G5 and builds on
it to provide a camera that can provide incredibly clear
results using its 7.1 mega pixel chip. We love the
moveable LCD screen on the back - why all cameras do not do
this, we cannot understand.
For those requiring the ultimate quality, the G6 is able to
take RAW photos - quite a rare feature on non-SLR cameras.
Whether you want control over your photos or just an
exceptionally good point and shoot camera (admittedly it is
slightly bigger than pocket size), the G6 is worth a try.
