We’re very excited to announce that we now have the Kinefinity MAVO Edge 6K and MAVO Edge 8K cinema cameras available for hire! Not only this, but Hireacamera is the first and only hire house in the UK to carry these powerful new cameras.
These cameras are a dream for indie filmmakers and true professionals alike – wielding astonishing capabilities that were once off limits to regular creatives. Sporting fabulous full-frame sensors housed within rugged carbon fibre bodies, these tiny powerhouses will elevate your video production to the next level.
The classic modular design provides almost infinite ways to configure your set-up to suit the way you work; clearly labelled buttons and logical menu layouts mean you will feel comfortable and confident in no time. Build quality is superb, giving you peace of mind during your shoot, yet these cameras are still lightweight and compact – making them perfect for handheld shooting or use with a gimbal. Interchangeable lens mounts open up a world of options – EF, PL and fully manual E mount, and the sensors even support anamorphic lenses for that distinctive cinematic look. (The 6K and the 8K are supplied with an EF adapter as standard, the other mount adapters are available separately.)
Both cameras offer over 14 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO, giving you ultimate versatility. Built-in electronic variable neutral density filters give you even more control over your scene, allowing you to adjust the ND strength in 0.03-stop increments.

It’s fair to say that the files sizes produced by these cameras are enormous, luckily Kinefinity has added dual NVMe SSD slots. NVMe SSD is a much faster storage medium than the previous generation of SSD drives, they are also much more reliable. Relay recording is supported, and we are hoping it will be possible to record to both drives simultaneously in the future.
There are hopes that internal ProRes RAW recording will be added via a firmware update at a later date, but in the meantime, you can capture ProRes RAW with an external monitor/recorder such as the Atomos Shogun Inferno, which is available for hire, HERE.
To keep this jargon-light, we haven’t included the full specifications of each camera here (it doesn't make for light reading!) but full details can be found on our product pages, HERE.
