Next Generation Recoil rigs are designed for optimal balance and comfort when shoulder mounted or on a tripod. With lenses and cameras being similar weights, the balance point is approximately where the lens meets the camera body. In a Recoil rig, the balance point needs to be directly over your shoulder which puts the camera behind you. This requires focus, monitoring and camera controls to be relocated forward, creating a lighter and shorter rig.
The Indie Rig
The Indie Recoil rig is compatible with all cameras including mirrorless and DSLRs. It includes the VCT Pro baseplate which will help you balance your rig and is universal for all cameras. The QR Riser raise your DSLR to a height compatible with matte boxes. It also allows you to quick release your camera and mount it to a tripod in seconds. The Zgrip Zwivel fully articulating handgrip gets your hand in the most comfortable position. There’s plenty of space to add a Z-Drive follow focus.
Wrapping around the side and top of the rig is the Halfcage Rail and Recoil Handle. This solid, adjustable, universal cage structure offers a wide array of accessory mounts like ¼ 20 holes, Z-rail and a rod lock for mounting Zacuto Zamerican arms and / or rod based accessories.
