Option 1 - Sony a7C, Sony FE 24-105mm F4
Weekend from £101 - hire now!

A compact version of Sony’s hugely successful a7 range, the a7C offers the features of the a7, but in a sleek form factor more like the A6000 range. Any reduction in size is always music to the ears of the poor, well-travelled landscape photographer looking to strike a balance between fidelity and portability. Featuring a 24-megapixel full-frame sensor, fantastic in-body image stabilisation and an articulating screen, the a7C has an awful lot to offer for such a compact body.

Partnering the camera, introducing the Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS, providing width and range in a single lens, helping to keep carry weight to a minimum. This full-frame lens manages to offer amazingly sharp images without having the weight of a small moon. Also included, 2 batteries and a charger, as well as a 32GB memory card. Be sure to head over to Landscape Photography Accessories if you’re looking for more power or memory, where we also stock a wide range of filters and tripods.

Option 2 - Sony a7 IV, Sony FE 12-24mm F4 G
Weekend from £123 - hire now!

The latest in Sony’s a7 standard range, the a7 IV is an impressive upgrade from its predecessor, all in a relatively small package. Featuring a 33-megapixel sensor Full-frame sensor with back-illumination, a large buffer for smooth shooting, the magnesium alloy body is strong and rugged without being overly heavy, perfect for landscape photographers with ground to cover to get to their setting. Sony is known for cameras with supreme low light capabilities, and this one is no exception. Just be aware that with all these bells and whistles, it might not be the most user-friendly experience for an inexperienced shooter.

Paired with the camera we have the Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM, a hugely popular choice among a7 shooters. This ultra-wide-angle zoom is extremely sharp, and allows for the addition of screw on filters, something the wider 12-24mm couldn’t accept due to a lens hood. Weather sealing ticks that final box, making this a perfect accompaniment to this powerful camera. Also included, 2 batteries and a charger, as well as a 64GB memory card. Be sure to head over to Landscape Photography Accessories if you’re looking for more power or memory, where we also stock a wide range of filters and tripods.

This camera truly is a landscape photographer’s dream. In addition to everything else, the a7R IV features 5 axis in-body image stabilisation, a super bright OLED viewfinder and dual memory card slots; it really does have it all.
