As well as the new Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon also rolled out two new versions of incredibly popular lenses - the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM Ultra-Wide Zoom Lens and EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Standard Zoom lens.
Their predecessors have been two of the most popular kit lenses for hiring so we were very excited to get our hands on them.
Starting with the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM Ultra-Wide Zoom Lens, this will be of more interest to our stills customers with the image stablised EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM already serving our video guys. Visually it isn't much different to its predecessor. Naturally it is sharper - it has been designed to work with the higher resolution sensors of the newer cameras. Canon expect it to appeal to wedding photographers and photojournalists.
The EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM moves the game on from its predecessor which has always been far more popular with our video customers than stills. That combination of wide focal range and image stablisation made it a favourite. This new lens improves things, not only in terms of image quality but also with improved 4-stop IS and a new video design EDM provides quiet aperture adjustment during movie capture, it's clear where this was aimed!!
We'll have both lenses available at launch around October time.
