Dramatic Wildlife Photography, with the Sony FE 200-600mm G OSS

As is the case with many of our customer case studies, our attention was first drawn to Evan Pugh’s striking images when he tagged us on Instagram, and we’re so glad he did! Evan had chosen to hire the award-winning Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS lens to photograph wildlife, and with its relatively small, lightweight design, super-fast quiet autofocus and versatile focal range, it was the perfect choice. I'm a university lecturer in Television Production at the University of Portsmouth, and have directed shows such as ‘I'm a Celebrity’ and ‘Love Island’, but I have always been a keen amateur stills photographer. I've been using a Sony A7 for a while and while my 24-70mm lens is great, I wanted to play with something with a bit more range as although my photography is varied, I do a fair bit of wildlife photography. I chose to hire the Sony 200-600mm lens as a birthday treat. As well as researching which lens I wanted, I did quite a lot of research into hire companies. Whilst many seemed to offer 'day rate' price matches, none seemed as convenient and flexible with regards to drop off and pick up as Hireacamera. I can also honestly say that the customer service was the best I have ever experienced, and it was all so easy and straight forward. As I had the lens for a few days I took it to Tilgate Nature Park in Crawley, Brooklands Lake in Worthing and the WWT Arundel wetland centre. It was a fantastic lens and I was able to get the results I was hoping for. Blessed with good weather I was able to get some really good detail on a number of different animals and birds.

The level of detail and clarity Evan has managed to capture is almost unbelievable, these really are first-class images. We would like to say a big thank you to Evan for sharing his beautiful art with us.
