VIDEO: Photo Gear News takes a look at the new SONY RX100 VI in Venice

 

When the new Sony RX100 VI was announced on the 5th of June this year, key topics of conversation were the new forward-facing touch screen, the super-fast autofocus, the addition of S-Log3 and of course, the colossal 24-200mm zoom, which, in a compact is pretty impressive!

The 1.0-type stacked CMOS sensor boosts processing speed, whilst its back-illumination technology increases light collection efficiency, allowing you to achieve ISO 804-12800.

There is one thing that we're hearing from our customers however, and that is their surprise that Sony haven’t included any sort of external mic capabilities, and we’re somewhat inclined to agree. Don’t get us wrong – this looks like a seriously powerful bit of kit, especially for its size – but a hot shoe could have been the final touch… Fingers crossed for the RX100 VII!
