CUSTOMER CASE STUDY: Shooting Goodwood Revival with the Canon XC10 & DJI Ronin-S

There’s always a real buzz in the lead up to Goodwood Revival, especially in the hire office as it’s such a popular event for both hobbyists and pros. Anthony Bryant is a professional drone operator who specialises in stunning 4K videos as well as beautiful stills, but on this occasion, he was shooting for himself. Here, he tells us how he got on!

I had used another well-known camera hire company before, but I was put on to by a friend and since then have never looked anywhere else.

I was sceptical at first as Hireacamera’s prices were so much better and I assumed there must have been a downside, but I was blown away by the additional gear that came with the hire and also the amazing customer service. Having two batteries and card readers included was a bonus compared to other companies that charge extra! From placing the order, to the follow up call to confirm (which is a nice touch) to delivery, it was faultless every time.

For the hire I was heading to the Goodwood Revival, the day was just a visit rather than a specific shoot so I wanted something small that was able to shoot 4k, that wasn’t going to stick out too much. I also wanted something light as I was mounting it on the DJI RONIN-S, so weight was a consideration as I would be on my feet all day; the Canon XC10 was the right choice.

The Canon XC10 is an exceptional small and light 4K camera and is overlooked by a lot of people. It has a brilliant 4k image that really delivers and a 10x zoom which is built in, so this saved me having to swap out lenses and re-balance the gimbal. It also has a built in ND filter which was great.

And here is Anthony’s video:

As you can see, Anthony has really captured the spirit of the day, we’re looking forward to next year already!
