What’s the difference between cinema and video cameras?

Digital cinema cameras are purpose-built for filmmaking, offering large sensors, high bit-depth codecs, and advanced manual controls. They're ideal for narrative, commercial and high-end content creation, whereas video cameras are more broadcast or ENG-oriented.

Are any of your cameras Netflix approved?

Yes, we stock several Netflix-approved models including the Canon C300 Mark III, Sony FX6 and FX9, and RED KOMODO 6K. Check the individual product pages or contact our team to confirm approval for your chosen camera.

Can I hire cinema cameras with lenses and accessories?

Absolutely. Most of our cinema camera listings are body-only by default, but you can add lenses, follow focus kits, batteries, media, monitors and more to build a complete shooting package.

Are these cameras suitable for beginners?

Digital cinema cameras are designed for experienced users, but we do offer models like the Sony FX3 and Canon C70 which are more accessible for hybrid shooters and first-time filmmakers. If you’re unsure, we can help you choose the right kit.

Do I need special media or software to record and edit?

Yes, many cinema cameras require fast media like CFast 2.0, CFexpress, or REDMINI-MAGs. We offer compatible media for hire. Editing may require software like DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut depending on the codec.

Still Not Sure What to Hire?

Choosing the right cinema camera can be overwhelming — from formats and codecs to sensor sizes and lens mounts. Not sure where to start? Get in touch and our expert team will guide you to the perfect setup for your production.
