Efficient Design to Prevent Thermal Shut Down

The custom ventilation system and chassis design of the Sony FX6 help prevent thermal shut down when shooting at high frame rates and 4K resolutions. Precise calculations ensure that optimum ventilation is achieved via internal heat sinks, exhaust vents and the shape of air intakes, as well as the location of the low-noise fan and airflow paths.

10-bit 4:2:2 Recording for Rich Colour Depth

The Sony FX6 allows you to record internally with a remarkable 10-bit depth and 4:2:2 colour sampling. This provides greater flexibility in image grading, post-processing, and compositing.

16-bit RAW SDI & HDMI Output for Demanding Post-Production Workflows

For high-end post-production requirements, the Sony FX6 offers 16-bit RAW output via SDI or HDMI connections to compatible external recorders while simultaneously capturing XAVC-I files in-camera. This enables a choice of 59.94 / 50 / 29.97 / 25 / 24 / 23.98 frame rates for RAW video output.

Support for Four-Channel Audio Input and Recording

The FX6's four-channel audio input allows simultaneous capture of external microphones along with the built-in microphone. You can also use UWP wireless microphones or XLR audio adaptors like the XLR-K3M with the MI Shoe (not included).

Dual CFexpress Type A Media Slots

The Sony FX6 has dual media slots supporting CFexpress Type A cards (not Type B), as well as conventional SDXC UHS-I and UHS-II cards. This ensures fast buffer clearance and efficient data management, with simultaneous, relay, interval, and proxy modes supported.

Networked for High Mobility

Wi-Fi connectivity enables advanced wireless production features such as remote control via smartphones or tablets and the Content Browser Mobile app. Connect easily with either Sony’s NFC One-touch or via manual pairing.
