To capture a truly unforgettable wedding day, you don't necessarily need decades of high-society event experience, but investing in the right equipment is crucial for producing flawless imagery that does justice to once-in-a-lifetime moments. The essential tools fall into five core categories: high-performance hybrid and cinema camera bodies with dual card slots for absolute redundancy, ultra-fast prime and zoom lenses to master challenging low-light venues, versatile lighting packages for creative evening coverage, crisp audio capture gear to preserve every word of the speeches, and finally, high-capacity power and media kits to keep your workflow running seamlessly from the preparations to the dance floor. By prioritising these components, you can ensure your photographs and footage have the tack-sharp polish and professional aesthetic required to deliver a masterpiece under the high-pressure environment of a live event.
Hiring your wedding gear instead of buying it outright makes perfect financial and practical sense, whether you are an established professional managing a busy summer season or an enthusiast stepping up for a friend's big day. Renting gives you instant access to premium, high-end kit—like specialized F1.2 portrait glass, matching secondary camera bodies, and professional wireless microphone systems—at a fraction of the retail price. This means you avoid a massive upfront capital investment for specialized equipment that might only see use a few weekends out of the year. Plus, it gives you the ultimate freedom to scale your gear package to perfectly match the unique demands of each venue, guaranteeing flawless, creative results without the burden of maintaining expensive, depreciating hardware that will just sit on a shelf between bookings.
STILLS/HYBRID CAMERA HIRE
Sharp Shooting
For Weddings
Fujifilm X-H2
The X-H2 gives photographers access to Fujifilm’s legendary film simulations (like Classic Chrome and REALA ACE) in an ultra-high-resolution body. If a photographer wants gorgeous, client-ready JPEG skin tones straight out of the camera to cut down on post-processing, this is the perfect tool.
VIDEO CAMERA HIRE
For Motion
And Precision
Sony FX3
The FX3 bridges the gap between mirrorless convenience and cinema-grade quality. It is arguably the most popular wedding video camera on the market because it packs the low-light capabilities of the a7S III into a cage-free, fan-cooled body. It can shoot all day without overheating, and its low-light performance means grain-free footage during dimly lit speeches or first dances.
Panasonic LUMIX GH7
Micro Four Thirds sensors excel at keeping a wedding day stress-free. The GH7 offers class-leading internal ProRes recording and an internal cooling fan, but its real superpower is its sensor stabilization. You can shoot buttery-smooth handheld B-roll while walking backwards down an aisle without needing a heavy motorized gimbal.
Canon XA55 Package
While hybrids handle the cinematic creative shots, you always need a rock-solid "Angle B" locked on a tripod at the back of the room to capture the entire 45-minute ceremony or extended speeches without interruption. The XA55 is a dedicated professional camcorder wrapped in a highly practical handheld form factor. Comes with a tripod and extra memory.

Never Miss
Nikon Z 85mm F1.2 S Lens Hire
When it comes to the couple’s portraits, bridal prep, or speeches in dim ballrooms, an 85mm prime reigns supreme. Nikon’s F1.2 option provides breathtaking subject isolation, melting away messy backgrounds into smooth, painterly creaminess while keeping the subject bitingly sharp.
Fujifilm XF 16-50mm F2.8-4.8 R LM WR
Replacing the older 18-55mm, this incredibly compact lens is built to resolve the high-resolution 40.2MP sensor on the X-H2. It starts at a wider 24mm full-frame equivalent—perfect for cramped bridal prep rooms or wide venue tracking shots—and weighs a mere 240g to reduce wrist fatigue over a 12-hour day.
LIGHTING WEDDING HIRE
Illuminate
And Reflect
Canon Speedlite EL-1
Wedding receptions and dance floors are fast, chaotic, and demanding. The EL-1 is built for maximum endurance, utilizing a robust active cooling system with an internal fan that prevents the flash from overheating during rapid fire. Powered by a high-capacity LP-EL lithium-ion battery, it delivers an incredibly fast, consistent recycle time of 0.1 to 0.9 seconds.
Sony HVL-F60RM
This is Sony's top-tier speedlight, engineered to handle the blistering burst rates of cameras like the a7R V. It features an innovative "Quick Shift Bounce" mechanism, which allows the flash head to tilt quickly from landscape to portrait orientation while maintaining the position of the wide panel—saving precious seconds when chasing a couple through changing spaces.
Swit S-2610 LED Panel
Wedding prep often happens in tiny hotel rooms or cramped dressing areas where standard light stands and bulky softboxes take up too much floor space. Because the S-2610 is a flexible fabric mat, you can curve it to alter the beam angle or literally tape it to a wall or window to create a massive, beautiful, soft key light.
Rotolight Neo III
The NEO 3 is the brightest on-camera LED light ever made, designed specifically for rapid, single-operator wedding workflows. Offering a beautiful circular light profile, it can be thrown on a hot shoe for run-and-gun shooting, or used off-camera for dramatic backlit night portraits.

Sony URX-P03D Dual Kit
This receiver can capture two completely independent wireless bodypack transmitters simultaneously into a single unit. Because it operates on the professional UHF frequency spectrum, the range and signal penetration are exceptional, allowing the operator to comfortably shoot from the back of a cathedral while the transmitters are hidden on the groom and celebrant at the altar.
Sennheiser EW 112P
When mic'ing up a nervous groom or an active officiant, the locking 3.5mm jack ensures the microphone cord can never be accidentally yanked out mid-vows. It matches the Sony kit's UHF performance, giving the shooter two highly dependable wireless systems running on distinct, non-interfering professional frequencies.
RØDE VideoMic Pro+
Wedding days move fast, and the biggest risk with standard on-camera mics is forgetting to turn them on or off, resulting in dead batteries or silent footage. The VideoMic Pro+ solves this entirely with its Automatic Power Function, which detects when the camera is turned on or off and mirrors its state perfectly.
Sennheiser Boom Kit
This kit pairs the broadcast-quality Sennheiser EW 100 ENG G4 wireless system (boasting a robust 100-meter range) with a professional RØDE Blimp 2 and Rycote shockmount. It is the ultimate solution for capturing crystal-clear speeches from a distance or mic'ing up outdoor ceremonies where unpredictable wind can easily ruin your audio track.

Power
And Memory
Power
Between running high-bitrate mirrorless video, continuous LED lighting mats, and charging wireless audio receivers, power management can make or break a wedding day. This section groups batteries and multi-slot intelligent chargers, high-capacity V-mount batteries for lighting rigs, and heavy-duty USB-C Power Delivery power banks.
Memory
There are no reshoots for the first kiss. Recording 8K RAW stills bursts alongside 4K 120p slow-motion video requires massive data pipelines. This category focuses on elite, high-speed media—specifically CFexpress Type A and Type B cards, alongside rugged V90-rated SD cards built to handle extreme write speeds.
Filtration
Wedding shooters constantly transition from bright, harsh outdoor midday ceremonies to dim, ambient reception spaces. This collection highlights premium Variable Neutral Density (VND) filters for precise exposure control, alongside specialized diffusion filters (like 1/8 or 1/4 Mist) to soften harsh digital sensors and create flattering skin tones.
Bags, Remotes, Cables
A hybrid wedding kit involves a massive amount of moving parts that need to be safely moved, triggered, and connected. This category covers professional rolling hard cases for safe venue transport, modular backpacks for rapid scouting, long-range wireless remotes for triggering locked-off ceremony cameras, and a dedicated kit of high-speed HDMI and tethering cables.
